Urban Banished Immortal - Chapter 31
The Girl That Loved to Eat Carrots
Zhu, who had been silent all the time, finally said something, “Lord Huai, you’re back! Grandpa asked me to look for you here.”
“Have a seat and don’t be so polite. There are no strangers here,” Guo Huai said with a smile. “My three brothers, why are you still in school?”
“Fourth Brother, what do you think? Are you touched that we’ve been waiting for you here?” Jia Yuan said as he drank a mouthful of beer.
“Totally, hahah. It’s my fault for not taking care of my brothers when you’re here, but you can’t blame me as well. Before the auction even ended, I couldn’t even see your shadows,” Guo Huai said, smiling.
“It’s all because of your wine. We’ve all gotten into trouble. Big Brother is still fine, he’s leaving to America tomorrow. However, Third Brother and I will be doomed. Our dads called us to bring some of your wine back no matter what. Otherwise, the doors of our homes wouldn’t open for us,” Jia Yuan said embarrassingly.
“My dear brothers, please don’t cry, hahah. I’ve given you all a lot of the wine already. You should settle your own family problems. I still have some of the wine left, but I can’t give it away anymore,” Guo Huai said and drank a big mouthful of wine from his wine gourd.
“Ahem, ahem. Fourth Brother, please don’t make it seem like we came only for your wine,” Wang Shen said. “The main goal that we came here is to check you out. How are you doing? You didn’t get bullied, right?”
“Three brothers, please be at ease. I, Qian Duoduo, am considered to be one of the most dominant people in Wucheng Subhigh. Should anyone want to harass Brother Huai, they have to go through me first,” Qian Duoduo said loudly.
“Hahah, Fourth Brother, I didn’t know you were this capable. You now have Qian Duoduo, Zhu, and four major beauties. You’ve only been to school for a few days, and you already have a bunch of brothers and beauties already. Furthermore, there’s more beauties than brothers!” Li Yao exclaimed.
“Heheh, this is embarrassing. Brother Yao, you’re different with Second Brother and Third Brother, just say whatever you have in mind,” Guo Huai said. He did not bother to read his brothers’ minds.
“Nah, it’s nothing much. Do you still remember what I mentioned to you at Wucheng Paradise? Do you want to know who was behind the car accident that day?” Li Yao asked.
“Brother Yao, don’t mention the name for now. Just tell me how confident you are in my ability to deal with the person you’re talking about,” Guo Huai said. He was shocked by Li Yao’s question.
“Combining the resources of us, the three families, I’m not confident at all, let alone yourself. This is partly because I’m only guessing who the person is,” Li Yao said, annoyed.
“Then keep the name to yourself. We don’t have to be worried about what can’t be done,” Guo Huai said with a smile.
This time, Li Yao, Jia Yuan and Wang Shen were shocked by his words. The three of them knew how Guo Huai usually behaved. He was a short-tempered, vengeful guy. No one expected him to say something like that.
“My dear brothers, I just want to finish high school for now. I have learned a lot after the accident. I can’t be relying on my family members and the three of you forever, right?” Guo Huai asked.
“Fourth Brother, it’s great that you think this way. However, since I can roughly tell who the mastermind is, I bet that person knows about this as well, and would not do anything reckless anytime soon,” Li Yao said softly. “If they really dare to make a move, I don’t mind collecting some interest from them first.”
“Thanks, Brother Yao. I’ll take care of this issue myself. Since us brothers have reunited today, let’s drink together,” Guo Huai said with a smile.
“Lord Huai, drinking this beer is meaningless. Can you give me some of the wine from this noon?” Zhu said, shaking his head.
“Zhu, I can give you some wine. However, I need to discuss something with you,” Guo Huai said, harboring malicious intentions.
“We don’t need to discuss anything! My crazy grandpa told me to obey your orders, whatever they are!” Zhu said loudly.
“Great! Drink however much you want today, but no matter what I ask you to do in the future, even if I want you to bleed a little for my sake, don’t you dare say no!” Guo Huai said, smiling.
Qian Duoduo was really efficient. He only went out for less than five minutes, yet when he returned, he had more than ten kinds of appetizers. Guo Huai gave Zhu the cow genital that he got from Su Ye, and asked him to cook using the simplest method. Once Li Yao and the other two brothers had a taste of the dish, they all strived for more.
“Fourth Brother, I’m regretting so much now. I should’ve let Xiaohua get me a school invitation letter as well. Can you tell me your secret? Just how did you manage to get so many beauties in just a few days?” Jia Yuan asked as he hugged Guo Huai with one arm.
“Fourth Brother, before you came, Big Brother said that the girls around you are all from major families. You should handle the situation properly. Otherwise, if those people were to come for you, solely the family members of these girls can cook you into a dish like this made by Zhu,” Wang Shen said, smiling.
“Relax, my brothers. We’ll all have women, power and money one day. It’s only a matter of time. The few of you may go back now,” Guo Huai said before walking to the door. “Brother Yao, stay here for a little longer. I have something for you.”
The three of them looked at each other before proceeding to the lift without waiting for Li Yao.
“Big Brother, I have a feeling that something bad would happen to you when you’re in the United States. You should take this with you, eat it when you’re at risk of dying,” Guo Huai said as he passed a very ugly jade case to Li Yao.
“Fourth Brother, I have no idea where you got so many weird items from, but I’ll keep this with me. I’ll meet you again once I come back to China,” Li Yao said and received the jade case from Guo Huai before leaving.
On the highest floor of the tallest building in Wucheng County, a girl aged fifteen to sixteen looked outside the window and muttered, “Sister Chang’er only roughly told me the coordinates of Telepath Starlord. How am I supposed to find him within these crowds? I don’t even know where he has reincarnated to.”
Knock! Knock! The knocking sounds messed up her thoughts.
She slowly calmed herself down and said softly, “Come in.”
A middle-ager in a western suit came into the room and placed a basket of nicely-cleaned, mini carrots on the coffee table. “My precious Miss Jade, these are the carrots you asked for.”
“You may get out now, the rest is none of your business,” Jade said softly. “Oh yeah, was there any exciting news in Wucheng County nowadays?”
“Exciting news? I don’t remember anything particularly interesting. However, reporting to you is the first thing I’ll do once I found something,” the middle-ager replied.
“Alright, go out now,” Jade said. The middle-ager walked out of the room and carefully shut the door. Jade immediately sat on the sofa and quickly devoured a mini carrot.
“This tastes so bad,” Jade said. She did not take a second one anymore. “The food tastes bad here and the spiritual energy is so thin. Furthermore, I’m only left with this limited divine power... Sister Chang’er, how am I going to locate Telepath Starlord?!”
